Who is Hannah Montana?
Any idea?
Well maybe these can help you out there:
Hannah Montana is an Emmy Award-nominated[1] American television series, which debuted on March 24, 2006 on Disney Channel. The series focuses on a girl who lives a double life as an average teenage school girl named Miley Stewart (played by Miley Cyrus) by day and a famous pop singer named Hannah Montana by night, concealing her real identity from the public, other than her close friends and family.
Season 3 premiered on November 2, 2008, and is still airing as of June 2009. The show has been renewed for a fourth season and new episodes have been ordered by Disney.[2] Hannah Montana: The Movie was released in theaters on April 10, 2009.
Production
Michael Poryes, who is credited as co-creator, also co-created the hit Disney Channel Original Series That's So Raven. The show is produced by It's a Laugh Productions, Inc., in association with Disney. It is filmed at Tribune Studios in Hollywood, California.
The original idea for this show was based on the
That's So Raven episode "Goin' Hollywood", which was supposed to be the pilot episode for a sitcom called Better Days, in which a child star of a popular TV show of the same name was to try her hand at going to a normal school. The episode "New Kid in School" has the basic premise as that aforementioned episode. Other names considered for the title were The Secret Life of Zoe Stewart (discarded as too similar to Zoey 101 on Nickelodeon)[citation needed], The Popstar Life!, and Alexis Texas. Former American Juniors finalist Jordan McCoy and pop and R&B singer JoJo (who rejected the role)[3][dead link] wer
e considered for the role of Zoe Stewart. Miley Cyrus originally auditioned for the role of the "best friend"[4] Lilly Romero, later changed to Lilly Truscott, but they thought she would be better for the main character, so she tried out for Zoe Stewart/Hannah Montana. Zoe Stewart was later changed to Chloe Stewart, which was eventually changed to Miley when she got the part. The names of Hannah Montana were changed a few times. Three of the previous names were Anna Cabana, Samantha York, and Alexis Texas.
In December 2006, Disney announced plans to release Hannah Montana products, including: clothing, jewellery, apparel, and dolls, at select stores.[5] Play Along Toys released the Hannah Montana fashion dolls, singing dolls and Miley Stewart doll, and other merchandise in August 2007. More Hannah dolls were released in Novembe
r, along with Oliver, Lilly, and later Jake Ryan dolls. They became one of the most popular Christmas toys in 2007.[6] Hannah Montana is signed for at least one more season according to Disney Channel. Filming for the second season started in December. The new season started in April, 2007, in which she is in high school.[7] As stated by Jason Earles at the launch of the High School Musical 2 Extended Edition DVD, filming of the second season has finished.
By February 2008, the Hannah Montana franchise had become so important that Disney convened an "80-person, all-platform internationa
l meeting to discuss Hannah Montana's future."[8] All Disney business segments were represented at the meeting.
Tour ticket scalping
Tickets for every concert sold out, with some tickets scalped for as much as $20,000.[9]
Opening sequence
The theme song for Hannah Montana is "The Best of Both Worlds" written by Matthew Gerrard and Robbie Nevil, produced by Gerrard and performed by Miley Cyrus (as Hannah Montana). John Carta, who also composes the music cues to signify scene changes and commercial breaks, composed the music for the song. The song's lyrics describe the basic premise of the television series.
The full-length version, which is 2 minutes, 54 seconds in length, was included on the show's soundtrack, released in October 2006. For the TV version of the theme, which lasts only 50 seconds, only the first two stanzas and the la
st two were used.
"Just Like You" and "The Other Side of Me" were originally tested for the opening theme song, before "Best of Both Worlds" was chosen as the theme. Stage and features episode clips of each cast member when each cast member's name appears. Each cast member's name is "wiped" on the screen in a marquee-light-style. The sequence then switches to full-screen episode clips (most of the clips used in the Season One version of the sequence were of the early produced episodes) with the creator's names appearing in the second-to-last clip. The show's title logo design appears at the beginning, and again at the end, of the sequence (the latter portion as with most other portion
s of the sequence on the "concert stage" feature Cyrus as her character Hannah Montana).
In Season 3, a new version of the opening credits were used. It features Miley as herself and Hannah Montana in a Times Square-like setting. The names of the actors and actresses and clips from the show appear in a sort-of marquee board and it features Hannah Montana with her new wig and clothes style. The song playing is the new version of The Best of Both Worlds.
Lawsuit
On August 23, 2007, Buddy Sheffield, sued Disney over Hannah Montana alleging that he originally came up with the idea for Hannah Montana but was never compensated by Disney. In the lawsuit, Sheffield claims that he pitched an idea for a TV series with the name of "Rock and Roland" to Disney Channel in 2001 with the plot of a junior high student who lived a secret double life as a rock star. The lawsuit claims that Disney Channel executives at first liked the idea but passed on the series.[10]

The film was much anticipated than High School Musical 3: Senior Year, but not in film score.
At the box office, Hannah Montana: The Movie grossed $17.4 million breaking the biggest opening day for a musical film of all-time, and $32 million on opening weekend, to earn the #1 spot at the box office. But it marked the second highest opening weekend for a musical film, behind only High School Musical 3: Senior Year. The film earned $77 million in the United States and $9 million internationally, putting films total earnings at $86 million.
Plot
Miley Stewart (Miley Cyrus) has become overwhelmed with her alter-ego, Hannah Montana's, popularity. After being late at her blowout concert and filming her music video ("Best of Both Worlds 2009 Movie Mix"), Oswald (Peter Gunn), a sneaky undercover journalist for celeb magazine BomChic, overhears that Miley's keeping a secret (that she is Hannah Montana) and becomes determined to find out what it is.
However, Miley gets into trouble when she ends up in a catfight with Tyra Banks over a pair of shoes at a department store, wanting to buy them as a birthday present for best friend Lilly, but Tyra is presenting it to her friend. This results in her missing saying goodbye to brother Jackson (Jason Earles) who departs for college. When Oswald secretly follows her limo to the party, she is forced to attend as Hannah, resulting in the guests turning their attention to her instead of Lilly (Emily Osment), especially when Hannah is accompanied by Steve Rushton in her performance of ("Let's Get Crazy").[12][13] Oliver Oken (Mitchel Musso) and Rico (Moises Arias) try to stop Lilly from leaving, but the party is ruined, due to the cake exploding.
Hannah and Tyra's fight is splashed across front pages across the media and Miley's father, Robby (Billy Ray Cyrus) is left furious about the fact her popstar life could threaten to take over for good. That same day, they leave for the World Music Awards in New York on a private jet but when the plane lands, Miley instead finds herself in Crowley Corners, Tennessee, her hometown. It soon emerges Robby had the plane travel to Tennessee instead because of it being her grandmother, Ruby's (Margo Martindale) birthday and that he wants her to reveal the life she could have had. When the dismayed Miley asks if her career as Hannah Montana is over, Robby says to ask again in two weeks' time. But Miley won't let go being Hannah Montana.
In Tennessee, Robby and Miley have their own relationships. Robby has a love interest, Lorelei, played by Melora Hardin, and Miley develops a deep connection with a childhood friend Travis Brody (Lucas Till), after he helps her with riding her old horse, Blue Jeans. Robby's relationship with Lorelei is awkward.
That night, Miley looks at a picture of her mom and her when she is young, missing her mother. Meanwhile, Miley is chastened after Ruby mentions that she seems to want to be Hannah Montana more than she wants to be with her family. Oswald, meanwhile, follows Miley to her hometown. Later, she tries to write a song, but when Travis ignores it, she is unable to write. Meanwhile, there is a firm battle developing with the residents of Crowley Corners and a team of developers who are planning to destroy the meadows and building a shopping mall on the site. At a barn party that night, several singers contribute to the charity to save Crowley Corners, singing ("Back to Tennessee"), and ("Crazier"), (Taylor Swift). Miley then sings ("Hoedown Throwdown") until the mall developers arrive. Travis and Miley dance, as do Robby and Lorelei, and the pair share their first kiss. Travis suggests that Hannah Montana should appear to play a special gig, seeing that Miley knows her (Miley had lied to Travis that she saved Hannah's life in a surfing accident).
Miley spends time with Lilly, who has arrived along with Hannah Montana's band and crew, and the two make up. She has a rough time adjusting to farm life while trying to be herself and Hannah, and Oswald takes a picture of her and Lilly, and Lilly is the one that Oswald to come here for a secret by accident. When Miley sees Travis, talking to him as Hannah, she encourages him to ask Miley out; he decides to take her advice. She promises to go, but has been invited to dinner with the Mayor by Lorelei (Lilly had been disguised as Hannah at the time). Miley struggles to switch between the two venues as both forms. Eventually she lets her guard down and is caught by Travis holding her Hannah wig. He immediately rejects Miley and she is devastated. Matters are further complicated when Robby has to break up with Lorelei, needing to take care of his daughter.
Miley writes her own song, ("Butterfly Fly Away"), which she and Robby Ray sing together to cheer her up. Upon finding the finished chicken coop that he and Miley were building and hearing the Hannah Montana song ("Rock Star"), Travis decides to go to the concert to support Miley.
The day of the final concert arrives and while performing, Hannah suddenly stops midsong, seeing Travis shows up. She feels guilty, removes the wig and reveals that she is Miley and decides to stop being Hannah, being unable to lead her double life anymore. She then sings her own song she created; ("The Climb"), but afterward the crowd pleads with her to carry on being Hannah, promising her they won't tell anyone her secret. Suddenly, Oswald appears and takes a picture on his mobile phone but after encouragement not to by his twin daughters, he changes his mind and quits his job. The concert ("You'll Always Find Your Way Back Home") is a success and Miley departs Tennessee again after kissing Travis, her faith in living a double life fully restored, and Robby and Lorelei renew their relationship.

Miley Ray Cyrus[1] (born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992)[2][3] is an American singer, actress, and author. Cyrus is best known for starring as Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana.
Following the success of the show, in October 2006, a soundtrack CD was released in which she sang eight songs from the show. Cyrus' solo music career began with the release of her debut album, Meet Miley Cyrus on June 23, 2007. Her second album, Breakout, was released on July 22, 2008. Breakout is Cyrus' first album that does not involve the Hannah Montana franchise. Both albums debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200.[4] In 2008 she released her Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert film.
She also starred in Bolt in 2008, and recorded "I Thought I Lost You" for the soundtrack for which she earned a Golden Globe nomination. She starred in the movie spin-off of Hannah Montana, titled Hannah Montana: The Movie which was released on April 10, 2009. In addition, she has recorded the main single, "The Climb", for the movie soundtrack.[5] In 2008, Cyrus was listed in Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People in The World.[6] Forbes magazine ranked her #35 on "The Celebrity 100" list with earnings of over US$25 million in 2008.[7]
Early life
Cyrus was born in Nashville, Tennessee on November 23, 1992.[8] She is the daughter of Leticia "Tish" (née Finley) and country singer Billy Ray Cyrus.[2] She has an older brother Trace,[9] a vocalist and guitarist of an electronic rock band Metro Station in California.[10] She has an older sister, Brandi.[9] The two were Tish's children from a previous relationship, whom Billy Ray Cyrus adopted when they were very young.[9] She also has an older half-brother, Christopher Cody, her father's son from a previous relationship, but she has not seen Christopher since November 2007 during her concert at Fort Worth, Texas.[11] Miley also has a younger brother, Braison, and a younger sister, Noah, who is also an actress.[12] Cyrus was named Destiny Hope because her parents believed that she would accomplish great things.[2] Cyrus was nicknamed "Miley" because she kept smiling ("Smiley") as a youngster.[2] She is of Cherokee descent.[13]
Cyrus attended Heritage Middle School and was a cheerleader,[14] but now goes to school at Options For Youth.[15] She also has a private tutor on the set of her TV show.[16] She grew up on her parents' farm outside of Nashville, Tennessee where she also attended The People's Church.[17][18]
Acting career
Cyrus became interested in acting at age nine, taking classes at the Armstrong Acting Studio in Toronto, Canada, when she and her family lived there for four years.[19] Her first acting role was as a guest star on her father's television series Doc, in which she played a girl named Kylie.[20][3] In 2003, she played "Young Ruthie" in Tim Burton's Big Fish and was credited as Destiny Cyrus.
Disney career
Cyrus was 12 years old when she originally auditioned for Disney for the lead role of Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana, as well as the show's "best friend" roles,[21] but Disney Channel executives judged her to be too small. However, Cyrus was persistent in her desire to be part of Hannah Montana, so Disney called her back for further auditions. According to Disney Channel Executive Vice President Gary Marsh, Cyrus was chosen for the show because of her energetic and lively performance and was seen as a person who "loves every minute of life,"[22] with the "everyday relatability of Hilary Duff and the stage presence of Shania Twain."[17] She spent several years trying to get rid of her Southern accent, but in the end Disney wanted her to revive it. Later in an unusual twist, Cyrus had to audition her own father, Billy Ray Cyrus, to see if he would fit the role as Hannah's dad.[23] Cyrus currently stars in Hannah Montana as the lead character Miley Stewart, whose alter ego is the pop music sensation Hannah Montana. Cyrus also performs in character as Hannah Montana for albums and concerts.
Cyrus had a brief cameo in High School Musical 2 credited as "girl at pool". Cyrus also guest-starred as Yatta on the Disney Channel's The Emperor's New School. Cyrus provided the voice of Penny in the 2008 computer-animated film, Bolt. She also starred in a Hannah Montana movie spin-off, titled Hannah Montana: The Movie which was released on April 10, 2009.
